Anne Xie (Annie)

Pronouns: she/her

Affiliation: Undergraduate Physics student at Queen’s University

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by to meet me. I’m currently taking a gap year between my third and fourth year at Queen’s University where my studies include a Physics major and a World Language Studies minor. I worked with the Shastri lab and research silicon photonic chips, photonic circuits, and neuromorphic computing. I can speak English, Cantonese, and Mandarin and I have beginner fluency in American Sign Language and Italian.

I currently hold the position of Undergraduate Chair on the Canadian Association of Physicists Student Advisory Council (aka CAP SAC) and I am excited to connect student physicists with each other in our latest project, Canadian Student Physicists Network on Discord. If you, your club, or school is has an idea or suggestion to improve the physics community for students, I would love to hear it!

Fun Fact: Annie recently became a sudoku fanatic and very much enjoys puzzles, reading, and soups. She would likely get along with your grandparents.
